Christmas knitting fever

Every year I say I’m not going to knit for the holidays. And every year I end up trying to cramp a bunch of projects in the queue in time for gifting. While it’s not a huge deal if I don’t finish these projects in time, I’d still like to get them done quickly. The first project I’m knitting is a set of Milo vests for my two younger kiddos and their dolls.

Pattern: Milo Vest by Tikki
Yarn: Cloudborn Superwash Merino DK
Needles: Jimmy’s SmartStix wooden interchangeable needles US 6 / 4.0 mm (It seems they are no longer available from Jimmy Beans wool)
Notes: This one is a 12 yr size then I will knit the 4 yr size and 2 doll sizes.

This project is one I’m most worried about getting done asap as they are a request from my middle kiddo. Her hands are often cold and she asked for gloves she can wear in the house without the fingertips. I wanted to size them so they would last her for many years to come so I cast on 60 stitches on a US 1 / 2.5 mm and plan to knit 5 inches of k2p2 before adding the thumb gusset stitches.

Pattern: not using one
Yarn: Urth Uneek Sock Hand-dyed self-striping matching sock kit in color #64
Needles: Knitter’s Pride US 1 / 2.5 mm
