WIP Wednesday

One benefit of a blog is accountability for projects. Ages ago I had a video podcast and I really liked the push to show progress each week. For a small amount of time, I considered starting it again, however, my house is rarely quiet enough to record a podcast. Let alone, finding the time to edit the video. We homeschool our 3 girls, ages 16, 10, and 4. I love having them home and being able to help them learn, but sometimes it’s controlled chaos!

I digress, So instead of a videocast I’ll stick with my blog posts and focus on a WIP each week, with updates the following week as each progress.

I’m knitting this pair of socks for my husband as a birthday/Christmas present. Although his birthday is in July, I know he won’t mind getting them a bit late.

Yarn: Online SuperSocke 75% merino 25% nylon/polyamid in the Farbe/2068 colorway
Needles: US 1.5 / 2.50 mm I’m using both magic loop and DPNS as I could only find a single circular needle
Pattern: KnitGrammer Flap and Gusset heel for toe-up socks

I no longer use Ravelry as I don’t agree with how they have treated their users the past year, especially those who had issues with the site redesign. So I was happy to find this one with a quick google search. It’s very simple to remember and allows you to put in your gauge, then updates based on the information you give.

The first sock is past the heel and into the ribbing for the leg. I’ve had hubs try it on and he likes the fit, so I’m good to advance the second sock which is currently in the gusset increases. I’m hoping to finish the gusset on the second sock as well as the heel flap this weekend, then knit the ribbing on both at the same time until they are tall enough for hubby’s liking.
